Gene Summary for CCKBR Gene

Official Symbol CCKBR Gene Type protein-coding
Full Name cholecystokinin B receptor Entrez 887
Ensembl ID ENSG00000110148 HGNC 1571
Aliases CCK-B, CCK2R, GASR Chromosome Location Chromosome 11, NC_000011.10 (6259838..6272127)
Expression Biased expression in stomach (RPKM 4.6), brain (RPKM 2.9) and 2 other tissues
Summary This gene encodes a G-protein coupled receptor for gastrin and cholecystokinin (CCK), regulatory peptides of the brain and gastrointestinal tract. This protein is a type B gastrin receptor, which has a high affinity for both sulfated and nonsulfated CCK analogs and is found principally in the central nervous system and the gastrointestinal tract. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. A misspliced transcript variant including an intron has been observed in cells from colorectal and pancreatic tumors.
